In recognition of our continued growth and success, Bristol & Avon Transport & Recycling Limited has been named as one of London Stock Exchange Group’s 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain.
The report is a celebration of the UK’s fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium sized businesses across the UK. To be included on the list, companies need to show consistent revenue growth for at least three years, outperforming others in the sector.
Established in 1993 by the late Jimmy Berkely, Bristol and Avon Group (B&A Group) has developed and grown from humble beginnings to become a leader in the transport and waste industries in the South West. The company recently invested £7 million in a state-of-the-art aggregates recycling facility and head office at Hallen as part of its ongoing investment programme.
“As a family company, we are very proud to be given this accolade”, said Clare Berkely, Finance Director at B&A Group. “It is testament to the excellent leadership of Kevin Berkely, each team delivering results each and every day and of course the strong foundations laid by the company’s founder, Jimmy Berkely.
“Of course, our success would not be possible without the excellent team of professionals we have at B&A Group. We offer a range of services from environmental consultancy, all areas of ground improvement, strategy and implementation to tipper and plant hire and waste management. We also produce a range of recycled aggregates from our new aggregate recycling facility in Bristol.”
The publication of the report on May 15 was celebrated at the opening of the London market by the Rt Hon Philip Hammond, Chancellor of the Exchequer. He was joined by David Warren, Interim Chief Executive of the London Stock Exchange Group and Nikhil Rathi, Chief Executive of the London Stock Exchange Plc.
Speaking at the event, Mr Rathi said: “We warmly congratulate all of the companies identified in this year’s ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ report. Five years on, the report continues to demonstrate the strength and diversity of British businesses across the country.”
Reflecting on B&A Group’s achievement, Clare Berkely said: “We have always been an ambitious company and strive to be the best at what we do. We invest in both our people and our plant and being highly competitive motivates us to constantly evaluate ways in which efficiencies can be made to give our customers what they want and when they want it.
“Being recognised and selected by the London Stock Exchange Group is extremely exciting for us and we will do our utmost to continue to be a dynamic and successful leader in our field.”
Having this award has provided B&A Group with lots of new opportunities within the industry and has firmly placed us as market leaders in the South West.
