This month, we're excited to shine the spotlight on one of our talented team members – Harry Pallet, Geo-Environmental Technician, who joined us in May. Since his arrival, Harry has made a significant impact in ensuring that our projects run smoothly and in full compliance with industry regulations, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on board!
Harry's journey into the world of geo-environmental work began at the University of South Wales, where he completed both his BSc and MSc in Geology. His dedication to his studies earned him a Merit in his MSc, and his passion for the subject quickly translated into real-world experience. After graduating, Harry jumped straight into the field, taking up a position as a Ground Investigation Engineer with SOCOTEC. There, he spent three years working primarily across the Southwest of England and South Wales, gaining valuable hands-on experience in ground investigations. This role equipped Harry with a wealth of knowledge and a solid foundation in geo-environmental work, which he has brought with him to B&A Group.
Since joining B&A Group, Harry has stepped into the role of Geo-Environmental Technician, where his day-to-day responsibilities are as varied as the projects he works on. His role largely consists of organising on-site testing across our sites that fall under the Definition of Waste: Code of Practice (DoWCoP). This includes scrutinising data received from laboratories and ensuring that everything aligns with the specifications and criteria set out for each site. On top of that, Harry also manages other minor works on these sites, playing a vital role in making sure everything runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
When asked what he enjoys most about his job, Harry shared the following:
“I enjoy the responsibility that I have in ensuring we are being compliant with the specifications of the site and in meeting the criteria set out in DoWCoP. Each site is different, and so each site provides different challenges.”
It’s not just the technical aspects of the job that Harry enjoys. Since joining the team, Harry has found the work environment at B&A to be incredibly welcoming and supportive. “My colleagues have all been very welcoming and helpful”, he says, “everyone’s made me feel comfortable in my short time here.” We’re delighted to hear that Harry has had such a positive experience with us so far, and we’re equally glad to have such a talented and dedicated individual as part of the B&A family. Creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all of our staff has always been one of our core values, and we’re pleased to see Harry thriving both personally and professionally.

Harry’s enthusiasm for his work, combined with his friendly and approachable nature, has made him a valued member of the team in just a few short months. His ability to adapt to new challenges and his dedication to compliance are key to the continued success of B&A Group’s projects. It’s clear that Harry thrives in the ever-changing environment that comes with his role, and his attention to detail ensures that every project meets the high standards we set for ourselves.
Outside his role, you can find Harry making the most of his free time exploring the scenic landscapes of South Wales. He’s an avid dog lover and often spends his weekends taking his dog for walks around the countryside.
In addition to his love for the outdoors, Harry also enjoys playing table tennis whenever his schedule allows, finding it a great way to unwind after a busy week.
